Our Story

HBC began when Jason Young and his family moved to Goodyear Arizona in March 2003. Several families were praying that God would raise up a gospel-centered, family-integrated church in the Goodyear/Buckeye area. Heritage was a direct answer to those prayers. Jason was commissioned and sent by two churches and worked under a church-planting pastor during the first year. God gave us an amazing spirit of love for one another, and we quickly outgrew the home in Goodyear pictured on the right.

Over the years, God has continued to grow our bonds of love in Christ. A verse that kept guiding us was Acts 2:42: “And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.” Below you can see pastor Mark Hubler and his wife talking with pastor Jason during a fellowship meal back in 2003.

We moved 11 times  from March 15, 2020 to July 16th 2023 due to being moved out due to COVID. We thank God for His provision. Click on the video to hear the full story of how God gave us our current meeting place. 

We are here to glorify God by connecting with God, loving one another, and making disciples of all nations. Authentic relationships with God and one another continue to open doors for real discipleship with hurting families and individuals.

This year we are launching a comprehensive sexual-purity course for men and a healing journey for women. We will continue to build on the lessons that we have learned from our past so we are even better equipped to serve God in the future. We invite you to become part of our story!
